Carnival promotes Sport and Santa Claus

A positive day for Santa Teresa B and Sport Extremadura in their matches corresponding to day 20 of the Primeira Nacional. The Blanco Verde side managed to beat Salamanca 4-2 at home and Juan Carlos Antúnez’s team did the same in Futbolellas.

Sport’s league aspirations remain intact after adding another away win. The people from Badajoz visited the Las Vercillas stadium in Torrejón de Ardoz to face Futbolellas and managed to return home with three new points.

A goal by Mariana Díaz in the 57th minute tipped the scales in Sport’s favor, thus adding to their fifth consecutive victory. Juan Carlos Antúnez’s team is in fourth place in the classification, twelve points behind Atleti C and four behind Olympia Las Rozas, which would mark the hypothetical direct promotion in the event that the White and White B team does not advance.

Santa Teresa, on the other hand, managed to beat Salamanca comfortably at home. Sheila Cerrato opened the scoring in the first steps of the game and Marta Hernández doubled the lead a few minutes before the break.

The charras were going to reduce the difference after the restart but a goal by Alicia Barrante in the 66th minute cut off any signs of a comeback. Alba Llinas put the fourth goal in the light in the 77th minute and Salamanca would close the game by marking the final 4-2 in the 85th minute.

During the next day, the whites will visit Olympia Las Rozas, second ranked and one of the candidates for promotion. Sport, on the other hand, will face Olímpico de Madrid at home.
